Grackle and Grackle hosts creative writing classes taught by accomplished writers who love to teach.

  • Write for self-exploration (cheaper than therapy)

  • Prepare for an MFA program (or decide that’d be nuts)

  • Recover from your MFA (you still love writing)

  • Finish that memoir
    (we know you tell stories)

  • Chip away at your novel (everyone needs deadlines)

  • Workshop a full novel draft (where else is this possible)

  • Explore poetry (let the ink run from the corners of your mouth)

Grackle and Grackle is a home for writers.

Our workshops take place in a historic artist’s studio once owned by internationally renowned painter Dorothy Hood. The Woodland Heights bungalow still hums with creative energy, once a space for canvas and paint, now a place for gathering, learning, and writing.

Our teachers are experts in their genre and gifted community builders. Our students break bread together and invest in one another’s work.
