Learn the fundamentals of drawing and painting in this 8 week, nontraditional, online offering at Grackle and Grackle. This class is for students interested in focusing on the nuts and bolts of drawing, and is modeled after the classes Gao teaches in universities. It is both for people who have taken and loved a lot of looser art classes and for people new to art — he is gifted at teaching both newcomers and advanced artists, helping each to focus on what will most help them in a given exercise. He’ll teach this class over Zoom. His teaching persona is serious and hilarious, while his focus is formal and classical. The class is geared towards precocious, focused students. It is a mix the adults in our family, our kids, and their friends have learned a lot from, and they have loved and enjoyed the class in the last year.
